They are lick resistant, but not lick proof as a cats tongue with a purpose can fuzz up almost anything! These beds work well also for small dogs who can tolerate wool and will not chew them. Easy care instructions: hand wash in tepid/warm water using a small amount of ordinary dish soap or wool detergent. After washing - gently rinse in clean water, then gently push to remove the water and try to give round form to the cat bed. Stuff with dry towels then leave it to dry. The standard inside of the bed is pure, natural light colored wool. Because of the high content of lanolin, they repel rather than absorb dirt.
